The show aired live from Basel, Switzerland – A new results format added suspense as 10 more countries advanced
The second semi-final of Eurovision 2025 took place live from the vibrant city of Basel, Switzerland, delivering another night of spectacular performances and emotional highs. While the spotlight was on the competing entries, viewers were also treated to preview performances by Germany, France, and the United Kingdom—three of the so-called “Big 5” countries that automatically qualify for the final.
This year’s semi-finals introduced a fresh twist to the announcement of results. Borrowing from the format tested earlier in the week, the ten finalists were revealed in groups of three, with only one country from each trio being confirmed live—an approach that kept the tension high until the very end.
The grand final is now set for Saturday, May 17 at 10:00 PM (Greek time), featuring a total of 26 countries. Alongside the ten qualifiers from each semi-final, the final lineup will include host country Switzerland and the five pre-qualified nations (France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the UK).
Here are the 10 countries that qualified from the second semi-final:
- Lithuania – Katarsis – “Tavo akys”
- Israel – Yuval Raphael – “New Day Will Rise”
- Armenia – Parg – “Survivor”
- Denmark – Sissal – “Hallucination”
- Austria – JJ – “Wasted Love”

- Finland – Erika Vikman – “Ich komme”
- Latvia – Tautumeitas – “Bur man laimi”

Montenegro – Nina Žižić – “Dobrodošli”
Ireland – Emmy – “Laika Party”

As the countdown begins for the grand final, fans across Europe and beyond are gearing up for a night where one song will take the ultimate crown.
